Transdisciplinary in nature, Justin Brice Guariglia is a contemporary visual artist who regularly collaborates with philosophers and scientists to unearth the complexities of our rapidly changing world. Guariglia flew with NASA scientists on research missions over Greenland, photographing the fracturing and melting glaciers from above with an intention to broaden climate change awareness, and literally show it in process.
HYPEROBJECTS by TIMOTHY MORTON
Global warming is the most dramatic example of what English philosopher and professor Timothy Morton calls “Hyperobjects” --entities that are so massive on the scale of space and time that they transcend humanity's ability to fully understand them. In his book, Morton explains what hyperobjects are and their impact on how we think, coexist, and experience politics, ethics, and art.
A loosely affiliated group of scientists from around the world, working to save the earth. The 'Anthropocene' has emerged as a popular scientific term used by scientists to designate the period of Earth's history during which human activities have a decisive influence on the state, dynamics and future of the Earth system. It is widely agreed that the Earth is currently in this state.
